Filmography ~ T'Chanalquay Film Productions

As a Dene Metis filmmaker and educator, it has been an intense and interesting learning experience working on these mostly self-funded documentary productions. I wanted to share of my People, what they are doing today and how they continue to strive for themselves and their communities. My work has addressed the themes of residential schools and intergenerational effects, breaking the cycle of lateral violence and turning towards Indigenous ways of wellness and healing. I am grateful for having attended and filmed many small and large workshops and conferences where they discuss Indigenous issues at the local and national levels. Like so many artists within my culture, I have used humour to relate to and enlighten the audience.

Reflecting back, my humble teachers and Elders taught me that we are accountable to each other. Because of their knowledge and sharing, I am motivated to preserve our history in collaboration with each other and the Creator who uses us to be instruments, to share with integrity.

I hope that these videos will have a ripple effect and inspire other Indigenous people to tell their own stories using oral storytelling, photography, radio, video making and any other creative means.
